Event Description
Health indicators show that obesity, heart health, and diabetes rates in Lake County are above the state average, highlighting the need for prevention, support, and effective health management resources for our residents. Attendees at these sessions will learn about the risks, while getting supports for management. The Purdue Extension will also be providing cookbooks, food demonstrations, and other incentives to enhance the experience.
Program topics include:
-Planning meals and snacks with healthy, delicious recipes.
-Cooking demonstrations and food sampling.
-Motivation and peer support for those living with diabetes.
-Practical ideas for increasing physical activity.
-Understanding how diabetes impacts overall health.
